10 Craft Ideas To Do With Squishmallow Coloring Pages

Here are 10 creative, fun, and cheap craft activities that you can do with the above coloring pages!

10. Keychains

Turn my Squishmallow pictures into adorable keychains in just a few steps!

First, you’ll print off the figures you want to use onto shrink sheets, which you can find online at Amazon. Have your kids color in and cut out the Squishmallows (markers work best).

Next, you’ll have your kids punch a hole wherever they want the keychain hardware to attach, then bake off the cutouts per your specific shrink sheets’ instructions.

Once they have cooled completely, you can attach the keychain hardware using pliers, if necessary.

9. Earrings

To make Squishmallow earrings, you’ll follow roughly the same directions as for the above keychains.

However, if you want two of the same earrings, you’ll need to print the same design twice.

If you’re making dangly earrings, you’ll have to punch a hole in the cutouts; but if you’re using post earring backs, you won’t need to (you’ll just have to hot glue the backs on).

Bake the cutouts and wait for them to cool completely, then attach the jewelry hardware.

Then wait for the compliments to roll in on your new, very cute earrings!

8. Suncatchers

To make suncatchers out of my Squishmallow pictures, you’ll need transparency paper, onto which you will print the illustrations.

Then take tissue paper and glue it within the lines; you can add it mosaic style or in blocks of color; totally up to you.

You’ll then cut out the Squishmallows and prick a hole at the top. String some cording through the hole and tie it off, then hang it up in a sunny window!

7. Decorative Plates

Buy some cheap plates from the dollar store (not plastic) – and pick up some Mod Podge while you’re at it.

Print off the Squishmallows you want to use and have your kids color them in and cut out the figures.

Then you’re going to Mod Podge the cutouts to the plates. You can use one per plate or as many as you like!

Wait for the Mod Podge to dry and completely, and then set the plates around your house (some ideas include in the entryway to collect keys or on your dresser for jewelry).

However, these plates are not food-safe, so don’t eat off them!

6. Gift Bags

If you’re having a party and you have little treat bags to give out, you can decorate them with my Squishmallow figures.

Simply print off the Squishmallows you want to use onto cardstock and color in (or have your kids color in!) the figures.

Cut them out and then glue them to brown paper bags, making sure to press the glue out to the edges so the Squishmallows don’t catch anything and rip.

You can then further decorate the bags with markers or stickers, or even glitter!

5. Greeting Cards

Another cute way to use my Squishmallow pictures printed onto cardstock is to make greeting cards with them.

One method for doing so is to fold a piece of construction paper in half and then paste the Squishmallow cut-out onto the front.

You could even add a little piece of folded paper behind the Squishmallow cut-out to make the figure a little 3D.

Then write your greeting and any message you have inside.

4. Room Decorations

Decorate your child’s room with my Squishmallow illustrations in a multitude of ways.

First, you could simply have them color in the pictures, frame them and hang them on the wall – in fact, you could do a small gallery wall with multiples.

Or you could have them color in the Squishmallow figures, cut them out, and then string them together to make bunting.

You could also take an embroidery hoop and make a Squishmallow mobile from the cut-outs.

3. Planters

To make cute Squishmallow planters, you will need cheap plant pots from the dollar store, as well as Mod Podge.

You’ll likely want to resize the Squishmallow figures, which you can do by copying/pasting from the original PDF into a Word processor document.

Have your kids color in and cut out the Squishmallow figures (marker would look best, but you can make do with crayons or colored pencils!).

Then they’ll apply a few coats of Mod Podge to the cut-outs onto the front of the planter. Let dry completely before planting or repotting plants into their new homes!

2. Window Clings

To make Squishmallow window clings, you will need lots of puffy paint.

You’ll print off the Squishmallow figures you want to use and have your kids start by tracing the outlines using black puffy paint.

Once they’ve done that, they can then “color in” the lines using different shades of puffy paint.

What they’ll want to do is make sure that the edges of the colored puffy paint are always touching the black outline.

Wait for the paint to dry – this can take up to two days or more.

But once it’s totally dry, you can peel the paint off the page and stick it in a window.

1. Cotton Ball Squishmallows

For a fun craft that is perfect for pre-schoolers, there are two stages to this: first, you’ll dye the cotton balls, and then you’ll apply them to the paper.

You’ll mix food coloring with water and a little vinegar and then dip the cotton balls into the concoction.

Once the cotton balls are dry, your kids can then glue them onto the Squishmallow figures, filling in the lines.
