Arlington Heights is a nice town, and the schools here are very good. Very nice parks and facilities that are family friendly.

I lived in Arlington Heights for two years, and I would say that it is a safe town, the people are friendly and helpful in helping you.
Your neighbor on the right might be conservative, but your neighbor on the left might be liberal. All the neighborhoods are quite differentiated in their own thinking.
The only thing I really feel like saying is that it is not that diverse in ethnicities. You catch glimpses of a few Asians and black people, but not that many. It's mostly white people living in Arlington Heights.
Especially if you are a family and you want diversity for your child or children, I don't know if this is the town that would be for you, however, I can tell you that there is a lot of community in the neighborhoods.

It is a very nice and relaxing town. With tons of stores and restaurants, downtown Arlington Heights is a hub of entertainment and great food. During the holidays downtown is decorated with lights and other Christmas decor and it creates a very movie-like scenery. The train station downtown goes straight to Ogilvie station which is the heart of Chicago. The school districts in Arlington Heights are some of the best in Illinois.
