Tori Foles, the wife of former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, on Wednesday night announced on her Instagram account that she miscarried the couple’s second child.
Foles, now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, was absent this week from their OTAs and Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone, without divulging details, said their “thoughts and prayers” were with Nick and his family.
Tori Foles said she was about 15 weeks pregnant with the couple’s first boy. Their daughter, Lily, will turn 2 next month.

After thinking she was battling a virus, Tori Foles went into labor on Sunday morning and later learned she had “contracted an infection of pneumonia in the blood.” Nick and Tori Foles were spending this past weekend with Eagles QBs coach Press Taylor and his wife. As of Wednesday night, Tori Foles said they are home from the hospital as she recovers from infection.
Nick Foles on Wednesday night posted on Twitter, sending his followers to his wife’s heartfelt message. He also said, “We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers.”

This is a devastating loss, but the couple is already leaning on its faith. Nick is a devout Christian and has post-football plans of becoming a pastor.
As their family goes through intense emotions, Tori Foles said they still have “a firm belief that God has this fully in his hands and will use this for good. We cannot always understand or explain, but we know that is true.”

After spending the last two seasons with the Eagles and helping the organization win its first Super Bowl, in which he was named Super Bowl MVP, Foles, 30, signed with the Jaguars as a free agent this offseason. He’ll face the Eagles, the team which also drafted him in 2012, in Jacksonville for a preseason game on Aug. 15. Foles is expected to rejoin the Jaguars later this week, according to NFL Network.
Foles will always be a hero here and was a favorite in Philadelphia of teammates and fans alike. Everyone will have the Foles family in their thoughts and prayers.
