Transforming Local Government (2024)

SGR’s 10 in 10 Note – Dec. 13, 2023

SGR has opened early registration for theTransforming Local Government (TLG2024)conference in the spring. This means we have two big conferences on the horizon. OurServant Leadership Conference (SLC2024)is coming up in January. Each was designed to address the varied needs of local government leaders and officials, and each does it in different ways.

The SLC2024 event is scheduled for January 25-26 in Dallas. It focuses on harnessing the power of servant leadership to address local government challenges by emphasizing customer service, team building, and achieving common goals.

This will be the 10thyear for our Servant Leadership Conference, and I can tell you that the energy at the event is always amazing. We all know that the challenges of local government are many—navigating political turmoil, managing limited resources, and meeting the expectation to deliver outstanding customer service despite those challenges. Those who know and practice servant leadership understand the positive impact it has on leaders and those they serve. The conference works to help leaders reinvigorate and rediscover the commitment to servant leadership through support, fellowship, and networking among their peers. It’s a terrific way to start the year!

The #TLG2024 conference is scheduled in Tampa on April 8-11. Once again, local government leaders are front and center as we focus on creating more efficient, effective, and sustainable communities by sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices.

This is very much a participatory event so you can expect informative sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities to learn from both experts and peers. At its heart, the Transforming Local Government conference is all about providing a platform to explore new and innovative solutions, fostering collaboration, and sharing experiences. We work in partnership with theAlliance for Innovation (AFI)to make TLG happen.

What I’ve learned in my time in local government and in working with those still in the profession is that it’s a constant learning process. Things change and it seems like things are changing faster than ever now. At SGR, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of those learning experiences to help prepare and support those who do the hard work of serving citizens at the local level.

Have a good week, everyone.
