With Ambika Zutshi, we just published an article on flexible public holiday arrangements. When included as part of a broad salary package, this type of flexible arrangement generates effects that are similar to those obtained with efficiency wages. We argue that a flexible public holiday arrangement can therefore be seen as the non-monetary component of an efficiency wage, with all its pros (and some cons). https://lnkd.in/gDTZsYyR
